Instrument Cluster With Instrument Cluster Control Module J285, Removing And Installing: Removing
If the control module is replaced, the test plan to replace the control module must be performed.
-- Perform the "control module, replacing" function using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. Refer to Diagnostic Entries .

-- Position the steering wheel as far back and down as possible.
-- Remove the driver side instrument panel decorative trim. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL DECORATIVE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the lower instrument panel decorative trim. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL DECORATIVE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolts -1- and -3-.
-- Pull the Instrument Cluster Control Module -J285- -2- downward and to the rear -arrow- while the instrument cluster disengages at the top.
-- Remove the control module on the driver side between the steering wheel and the instrument panel.
-- Free up the wiring harness -arrow-.
-- Disconnect the connectors -1- through -3-.
-- Seal the open wiring harness connector -2- with Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective Caps:VAS 6223/9 -1-.
