Spring, Removing And Installing, RS Competition: Removing
-- Mark the installation direction of the coil spring, if the factory installed mark is no longer visible. Refer to Figure.
-- Remove the rear wheel. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
-- Remove the expanding rivets -2-.
-- Pull the wind deflector -1- slightly outward in direction of -arrow- and remove.
-- Turn back the adjusting nut -1- at the spring plate -2- to the dimension -a-.
- Dimension -a- = 0 mm
-- Position the Engine and Gearbox Jack:VAS 6931 -5- with the Engine/Gearbox Jack - Gearbox Support:T10337 -1- to the lower transverse link -4-.
-- Disconnect the threaded connection -2-, for this lift the transverse link if necessary.
-- Lower the engine and gearbox jack with the transmission support, remove the coil spring -3-.
There is a risk of an accident when lowering or lifting the vehicle when the engine and gearbox jack is underneath it.
- Never lift or lower the vehicle when the engine and gearbox jack is underneath it.
- Never leave the engine and gearbox jack under the vehicle any longer than necessary.
