Overview - Telephone, AUDI Phone Box (9ZE), Before Product Improvement

The Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794- is installed and is used for hands-free calling.

The connection to the Cellular Telephone -R54- takes place via Bluetooth. The Bluetooth Antenna -R152- is integrated in the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794-.

The telephone is operated either by the Infotainment system MMI or by the Cellular Telephone -R54-.

The microphones for the Microphone Unit In Front Roof Module -R164- are integrated in the Front Roof Module -WX3-. One microphone (Left Front Microphone -R140-) is connected directly to the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794-. For IW1/IW3 with the Data Bus on Board Diagnostic Interface -J533-.

The Telephone Baseplate -R126- (Audi phone box) is installed in the center console with a pairing antenna. The Telephone Baseplate -R126- may also be equipped with a module for wireless charging of the corresponding Cellular Telephone -R54-.

The Telephone Antenna -R65- is connected through the Cellular Telephone Amplifier -R86- to the Telephone Baseplate -R126-.

An LTE module can also be installed in the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794- for an Internet connection (Audi connect, EL3).

• No LTE antennas (LTE Antenna 1 -R297- /LTE Antenna 2 -R306-) are installed

9ZE - Audi phone box with Audi connect EL3:

• The Telephone Antenna -R65- is installed behind the rear bumper cover on the right side.
• The LTE Antenna 1 -R297- is installed in the Roof Antenna -R216- /under the rear bumper cover on the left side/in the convertible top compartment cover in the center to the right.
• The LTE Antenna 2 -R306- is installed under the left side of the rear bumper cover/under the center of the rear shelf (Coupe) / in the left rear seat belt guide (Sportback) / in the center of the instrument panel.
