Overview - Microphone Unit, Cabriolet, From Product Improvement
The microphone unit is comprised of the Microphone Unit in Front Roof Module -R164- and the Seat Belt Microphone Control Module -J886- with the seat belt microphone.
The Microphone Unit in Front Roof Module -R164- is installed in the Front Roof Module -WX3-. Up to three microphones may be installed, depending on the equipment.
One of these microphones (Interior Microphone -R74-) is directly connected to the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794-. The other microphone (Telephone Microphone -R38-) is connected directly to the Control Module for Emergency Call Module and Communication Unit -J949-.
The Microphone Unit In Front Roof Module -R164- in the Front Roof Module -WX3- can only be replaced as a complete unit. Replacing the individual microphones is not possible.

The Seat Belt Microphone Control Module -J886- is located under the left front seat. The seat belt microphones are connected to the Seat Belt Microphone Control Module -J886-.
The Seat Belt Microphone Control Module -J886- evaluates the signals and transmits the best signal to the Control Module for Emergency Call Module and Communication Unit -J949-.
