Wheel Bearing Housing, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- AWD equipment version: loosen the drive axle threaded connection on the wheel hub. Refer to DRIVE AXLE THREADED CONNECTION, LOOSENING AND TIGHTENING .

-- Remove the brake shield. Refer to BRAKE SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- FWD equipment version: disconnect the connector -2- for the rear speed sensor.

-- AWD equipment version: disconnect the connector -1- for the rear speed sensor.

NOTE:

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and move the bracket -1- to the side together with the wires.

-- Install the Support Device:VAS 6931/1 -A- to the brake rotor -1- using two wheel bolts -2-.

-- Position the Engine and Gearbox Jack:VAS 6931 -B- at the support device and lift the wheel bearing housing slightly, doing so will make it easier to disconnect the threaded connections.

WARNING:

Risk of accident!

Do not lift or lower the vehicle when the engine and gearbox jack is under the vehicle.
Do not leave the engine and gearbox jack under the vehicle any longer than necessary.

-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2-.

-- Remove the bolts -3 and 4- and disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Loosen the wheel bearing housing -2- from the drive axle and remove it.
