SUBFRAME Front Hydraulic Bonded Rubber Bushing, Replacing: Removing

-- Remove the wheels. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .

-- Equipped on some models: remove the diagonal brace. Refer to DIAGONAL BRACES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Exhaust system without separating point or equipment versions with natural gas system: remove the muffler. Refer to MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (2.0L) , MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (2.9L) .

-- Exhaust system with separating point: remove the exhaust pipe. Refer to OVERVIEW - MUFFLER (2.0L) , OVERVIEW - MUFFLER (2.9L) , OVERVIEW - MUFFLER Servicing 2.9L .

-- Remove the left and right spring. Refer to SPRING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the stabilizer bar. Refer to STABILIZER BAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the front lower transverse link. Refer to FRONT LOWER TRANSVERSE LINK, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Pry out the anti-twist mechanism -2- in the area of the retaining tabs with a screwdriver from the bonded rubber bushing alternating from side to side.

-- Version with plastic insert: remove the plastic insert -1- from the bonded rubber bushing.

-- Mark the installation position of the hydraulic bonded rubber bushing on the subframe -arrows-, for example with a felt-tip marker.

-- If necessary, the support -arrow- with the small inner diameter must be removed from the Hydraulic Press:VAS 6178  and the Pressure Head:T10205/13  must be installed for it.

3. Assembly Tool - Support Ring:T40328/3 
4. Pipe:T40373/3 
5. Support Ring:T40373/2  . The conical side must face upward and the ribs must fit into the openings in the rubber bonded bushing
6. Thrust Piece:T40373/6  . Can be used on both sides depending on the bonded rubber bushing.
7. Bearing Installer - Wheel Hub/Bearing Kit - Nuts:T10205/8-2
