-- Remove the bolts -1-.

-- Push the wheel housing liner -3- to the side.

-- Remove the bolt -2-.

-- Remove the nuts -1- and bolt -2-.

-- A4 and A5 with TDI engine from product improvement: remove through the opening on the bumper cover lower section -1- remove the nut -arrow-.

-- Remove the tail lamp. Refer to LOWER TAIL LAMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Pull the locking mechanism -1- upward -arrow A-.

-- Open the mount -2- up to the locking mechanism -arrow B-.

-- Open the luggage compartment side trim panel cover.

-- Versions with first aid kit mount: remove the nut -2- and remove the mount -1-.

-- Disconnect the connector -1- and free up the wiring harness.

-- Press the grommet -2- outward.

-- Remove the lock carrier trim panel. Refer to LOCK CARRIER TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the nuts -arrow- using the Body Socket:T40078  .

-- Disengage the side bolster -1- outward from the side panel -arrow A- and remove the bumper cover -2- -B arrows- at the same time guide out the wiring harness.
