Left Flange Shaft, Removing And Installing: Removing

• The transmission is installed.

-- Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to GEAR OIL, DRAINING AND FILLING, FRONT FINAL DRIVE, TRANSMISSION WITH SEPARATED OIL SYSTEM .

-- Remove the left drive axle. Refer to DRIVE AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Vehicle with fixed ATF lines: remove the ATF cooler. Refer to ATF COOLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Vehicle with ATF hose lines: unscrew the ATF cooler and push to the side. Refer to ATF COOLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left shock absorber fork. Refer to TOWER BRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- from the flange shaft mounting bracket.

-- Remove the lower cover -arrow- from the transmission.

-- To avoid damaging the seal, support and guide the flange shaft -arrow- out of the opening in the transmission.

-- Remove the left flange shaft -2- from the transmission in direction of -arrow A-.
