SUBFRAME, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Secure the subframe. Refer to SUBFRAME, SECURING .

-- Remove the left and right rear brake caliper. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the driveshaft from the rear final drive and tie it up. Refer to the appropriate Service Information. .

Final Drive 0D3 "quattro sport" :

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-, and remove the bracket -1- from the rear final drive.

-- Label and disconnect the connectors -2- for the oil pressure/temperature sensor and at the clutch valves.

-- Disconnect the connector -4- at the All-Wheel Drive Pump -V415-.

-- Unclip the wiring harness -3- from the final drive -5, 6 and 7- and tie it up.

Final Drive 0B0 "quattro ultra" :

-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 2-.

-- Remove the wiring guide from the final drive and free up the wire.

-- Disconnect the left and right connector -arrow- for the rear level control system sensor and free up the wire.

-- Disconnect the left and right connector -1- for the speed sensor.

-- Disconnect the connector -1-, if equipped.

-- Remove the bolts on the shock absorber mount.

Versions with Air Suspension:

-- Remove the nut -arrow-, and remove the solenoid valve block cover -1-.

-- Remove the air lines -1 and 2- with the rear air springs.

Equipment Versions with SCR System:

-- Free up the SCR delivery line.

-- Remove the left and right bolt -arrow-, and free up the bracket -1- with the wires.

-- Lower the subframe with the Engine and Gearbox Jack:VAS 6931  .
