-- Disconnect the battery ground cable when the ignition is turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Right side of vehicle: remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - 2.0L ; AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - 3.0L .
-- Remove the screw -1- and then remove the front airbag crash sensor -2- from the lock carrier.

- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.
