OVERVIEW - FINAL DRIVE, DISASSEMBLING AND ASSEMBLING, 0D3 AND 0BX "quattro sport"

  1. Bolt
    • 50 Nm + 180° additional turn
    • Always replace.
  2. Right Flange Shaft
  3. Protective Ring
  4. Protective Cap
    • Not installed on all versions
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to Fig 2.
  5. ATF Breather Pipe
    • For the left chamber
    • Clip onto the bleed pipe
  6. Seal
    • With strainer
  7. Hydraulic Control Unit
  8. Bolt
  9. Bolt
  10. Bolt
  11. Shaft Seal
  12. Left Chamber
  13. ATF Check Plug
    • 15 Nm
    • Always replace.
    • With permanent seal
  14. Left Flange Shaft
  15. Protective Ring
  16. ATF Drain Plug
    • 15 Nm
    • Always replace.
    • With permanent seal
  17. Gear Oil Drain Plug
    • 15 Nm
    • Always replace.
    • With permanent seal
  18. Final Drive Housing
  19. Shaft Seal
  20. Protective Ring
  21. Flange/Driveshaft
  22. Circlip
    • Always replace.
    • Installing.
  23. Gear Oil Check Plug
    • 15 Nm
    • Always replace.
    • With permanent seal
  24. Bracket
    • For the wiring harness
  25. Bolt
    • 9 Nm
  26. Right Chamber
  27. Shaft Seal
  28. ATF Breather Pipe
    • For the right chamber
    • Clip onto the bleed pipe
  29. Final Drive Bleeder
    • Clip onto the bleed pipe

-- The protective cap -A- is clipped into the groove behind the ATF breather pipe -B-.

Replacing the protective cap

Depending on the version the version closed protective caps are installed.

CAUTION:

Possible accumulation of water in the area of the protective caps.

Possible mixing of the ATF with water.

- The closed protective caps must be replaced by the half-open protective caps.

-- To open release the left and right tab from the catch -arrow- and remove the protective caps.
