Battery Interrupt Igniter -N253-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 12 VOLT: Removing

-- Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Switch off the ignition and place the ignition key outside of the vehicle and wait 10 seconds before working on the airbag system.

-- Right side: remove the floor mat, release the cover -1- upward direction of -arrow A- and remove toward the center of the vehicle direction of -arrow B-.

-- Release the catch and open the lid -4- direction of the -arrow-.

-- Remove the nuts -3 and 5-.

CAUTION:

Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.

There is a risk of injury.

- Discharge static electricity by briefly touching the door striker.

-- Remove the Battery Interrupt Igniter -N253-.

-- Disconnect the connector -1- on the ignition -2- to do so release the connector lock with a small flat-head screwdriver.
