Air Duct Pipe, Removing And Installing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Long Reach Special Wrench: T40398 , not illustrated
Upper air duct pipe, removing
-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the connectors -5- and free up the wires:
-- Loosen the hose clamps -arrow- and remove the air duct hoses.
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 3- and remove the air duct pipe -2- with the Throttle Valve Control Module -GX3- -item 4-.
-- Free up the wiring harness.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- Remove the crankcase ventilation hose -1- by pressing the release buttons on both sides.
-- Disconnect the connector -3- for the Intake Air Temperature Sensor - G42- /Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor - G71- and free up the wires.
-- Disconnect the vacuum hose -4- and hose -2- for crankcase ventilation by pressing the retainers on both sides.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the upper air duct pipe -1-.
Lower Air Duct Pipe, Removing
- Upper air duct pipe removed.
-- Loosen the hose clamps -1 and 3- and remove the air guide hoses.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the lower air duct pipe -2-.
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
- Replace the seals and O-rings after removal.
- Replace bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.
- Secure all hose connections with hose clamps that match the ones used in series production. Refer to the Electronic Parts Information (ETKA).
-- Install the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
