Upper Air Duct Pipe, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the reinforcement brace. Refer to OVERVIEW - LOCK CARRIER .
-- Remove the front noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the left front lower longitudinal member. Refer to LOWER LONGITUDINAL MEMBER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
Vehicles without High-Voltage System
-- Remove the A/C compressor from the bracket and tie it up on the left side. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING ON BRACKET .
Continuation for All
-- Loosen the hose clamp -1- and remove the air duct pipe and tie up to the left side.
-- Loosen the screw-type clamp -1- and remove the boot -2-.
-- Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose -left arrow- on the support -2- to do so push the release buttons on both sides.
-- Remove the bolts -1- and remove the support -2- with the crankcase ventilation hose connected and move it to the side. At the same time pay attention that the crankcase ventilation hose is not kinked.
-- Remove the throttle valve control module. Refer to Throttle Valve Control Module -J338-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the upper air duct. Refer to AIR DUCT, UPPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITHOUT RADIATOR SHUTTER .
-- Release the left and right catches in direction of -arrows- and remove the retaining pin -1- for the radiator upward.
-- Push the radiator on the top slightly forward and secure it with for example with a plastic wedge so it does not tilt back.
-- Press the release buttons -arrow- on both sides and disconnect the EVAP system hose.
-- Free up the wiring harness.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- Remove the crankcase ventilation hose -1- by pressing the release buttons on both sides.
-- If necessary, disconnect the connector -2- for the Recirculation Valve, Bank 1 -N625-.
-- Free up the wiring harness -arrows- and the clips -1- from the oil dipstick tube.
-- Pull the wiring duct -3- off the ball pin and free up.
-- Release and disconnect the connectors -4 and 5-.
-- Free up the wiring harness -2-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-, use the Long Reach Special Wrench: T40398 if necessary.
-- Remove the vacuum hose -6- and hose -3- for the crankcase ventilation to do so press the release buttons on both sides. Depending on the version at the position -6- instead of a quick-release fasteners a hose clamp with rubber hose may be installed.
-- Remove the upper air duct pipe -1- from the intake manifold, push to the right in direction of -arrow A- and at the same time pivot to the right in direction of -arrow B- upward and remove. To do so push the coolant hose on the left cylinder head to the side and guide out the upper air duct pipe on the wiring harness.
