Inner Door Seal Bracket, Removing And Installing

- The following components must be replaced after removal. Refer to OVERVIEW - DOOR SEALS, A7 SPORTBACK .
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Roller:3356
- Wiring Harness Repair Set - Hot Air Blower:VAS1978/14A
- Adhesive Strip Remover:VAS6349
- Cleaning Solution:D 009 401 04
Removing
-- Remove the B-pillar trim panels. Refer to B-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the B-pillar trim. Refer to B-PILLAR TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the inner door seal in the area of the bracket.
-- Warm the adhesive -3- using the :VAS1978/14A .
-- Remove the bracket -2- for the inner door seal from the clamp -1- -arrows-.
Installing
- The vehicle and the bracket must be at room temperature.
- The adhesive surfaces must be free of dirt and grease.
-- Remove adhesive residue from the body.
-- Clean the painted side of the adhesive surface with Cleaning Solution:D 009 401 04 and let dry.
-- Align the bracket -1- for the inner door seal on the body seam -3-.
- The raised section -4- on the body seam must align with the opening -arrow- on the bracket.
-- Remove the protective film from the adhesive tape -2-.
-- Press the bracket on completely.
- Vehicle resting time is at least 30 minutes at room temperature.
