Crankshaft Seal, Replacing, Transmission Side
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Assembly Device: T10122C
- Puller - Crankshaft/Power Steering Seal : T20143/2
Procedure
- The transmission is removed. Refer to the appropriate Transmission Information .
-- Remove the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the sensor wheel. Refer to SENSOR WHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Pry out the seal carefully using the Puller - Crankshaft/Power Steering Seal : T20143/2 at the same time do not damage the contact and sealing surface.
-- Clean the contact and sealing surface.
-- Place the Seal Installer - Crankshaft - Extractor Lever Guide Piece to Crankshaft Seal Install Kit - Guide Piece: T10122/1 on the Seal Installer - Crankshaft - Guide Piece: T10122/6 and seal -A- with the closed side on the guide piece.
-- Remove the Crankshaft Seal Installer Kit - Guide Piece Guide Piece to Crankshaft Seal Install Kit - Guide Piece: T10122/1 .
-- Position the Crank Shaft Seal Installer - Guide Piece: T10122/6A on the crankshaft.
-- Using the bolts -arrows- from the Guide Piece attach via the mounting point -A- on the crankshaft.
Risk of damaging by folding over the sealing lip when installing.
Oil leaks possible.
- Install the seal by hand.
-- Push the seal onto the crankshaft by hand using the Crank Shaft Seal Installer - Guide Piece: T10122/6A .
-- Press in the seal with Thrust Piece Thrust Piece: T10122/5 all around all the way.
-- Remove the Crank Shaft Seal Installer - Guide Piece: T10122/6A .
-- Check the seal as well as its sealing lip for correct seating. If the sealing lip is partially rolled back, repeat the procedure with a new seal.
-- Install the sensor wheel. Refer to SENSOR WHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
