Crankshaft, Removing And Installing: Removing
- Engine secured on the engine and transmission holder. Refer to ENGINE, SECURING TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER .
-- Remove the pistons. Refer to PISTONS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the belt pulley side sealing flange. Refer to SEALING FLANGE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, BELT PULLEY SIDE .
-- Press the tensioning rail in the direction of -arrow- and secure it with a Locking Pin: T40011 .
-- Remove the bolts -2- and remove the guide rail -1-.
-- Loosen the oil pump and remove with the chain. Refer to OIL PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Lock the gear backlash on the gear, to do so insert the Locking Tool: T40362 all the way in the gear.
- The opening in the handle points to the center of the gear.
-- Turn the locking tool 90° counter-clockwise -arrow-.
-- Remove the bolts -1 through 10-.
-- Remove the bolts -1 through 20-.
-- Remove the left front plug -arrow-.
-- Position the prepared Extracting Tool: T40332 on the affected bearing cap and secure it by turning the Threaded Pin -arrows- using the Torx Bolt Driver - T25: T10248 on the left and right side until it stops.
-- Tighten the Puller - Unit Injector: T10055 on the Extracting Tool: T40332 , and remove the bearing cap.
-- Repeat the procedure on the remaining bearing cap and remove the crankshaft.
