Rear Axle Steering Gear, Removing And Installing, AUDI Q7: Removing
- Vehicles with active suspension: pay attention to the safety precautions. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON VEHICLES WITH ACTIVE SUSPENSION .
-- If the rear axle steering gear with the Rear Axle Steering Control Module -J1019- is replaced, then select the "Control Module, Replacing" program. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC ENTRIES .
-- Start the selected program and follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display.
-- Versions with coil springs: determine the curb weight position. Refer to WHEEL BEARING IN CURB WEIGHT POSITION, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH COIL SPRING .
-- Versions with air suspension: determine the standard vehicle height. Refer to WHEEL BEARING AT STANDARD VEHICLE HEIGHT, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH AIR SUSPENSION .
-- Exhaust system without separating point: remove the rear muffler. Refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS 2.0L or EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS 3.0L .
-- Exhaust system with separating point: remove the exhaust pipe. Refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS 2.0L or EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS 3.0L .
-- Versions with sway stabilization: remove the left diagonal brace. Refer to Underbody Trim Panel ; Diagonal Braces, Removing and Installing.
-- Versions with air suspension: remove the nuts -arrows- and the cover -1- for the air supply unit.
-- Disconnect the connector -3- on the Rear Axle Steering Control Module -J1019-. Loosen the retainer -arrow- and push the release downward to do so.
-- Disconnect the connector -2- on the Rear Axle Steering Control Module -J1019-.
-- Remove the left and right bolt -2- and disconnect the threaded connection -1-.
-- Remove the bolt -4- and the rear axle steering -3-.
