Wheel Bearing Housing, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Loosen the connection between the drive axle and wheel hub. Refer to DRIVE AXLE THREADED CONNECTION, LOOSENING AND TIGHTENING .

-- Remove the brake shield. Refer to BRAKE SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -1- for the rear speed sensor.

-- Remove the bolt -1- and free up the bracket -2- with the wires.

-- Install the Support Device :VAS 6931/1 -item A- to the brake rotor -1- using two wheel bolts -2-.

-- Position the Engine and Gearbox Jack :VAS 6931 -item B- to the support bridge.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of an accident when lowering the vehicle when the engine and gearbox jack is underneath it.

- Never lower the vehicle when the engine and gearbox jack is underneath it.

- Never leave the engine and gearbox jack under the vehicle any longer than necessary.

-- Slightly lift the wheel bearing housing using the Support Device :VAS 6931/1 with the Engine and Gearbox Jack :VAS 6931 this allows the threaded connections to easily separate.

-- Remove the screw -2- and disconnect the threaded connection -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -3 and 4- and disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Loosen the wheel bearing housing -2- from the drive axle and remove it.
