Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Torque Wrench 1331 5-50Nm: VAG1331 
• Engine and Gearbox Jack: VAS6931 
• Ball Joint Splitter (kukko 129-3): VAS251805 
• Ball Joint Splitter: VAS251809  with : VAS251809/1 
• Rear Axle Support: T10552 
• Strut: T40335 
• Adapter: T40386

-- Loosen the bolts -arrows-.

-- Adjust the dimension -a-.

• Dimension -a- = 250 mm

-- Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.

-- Loosen the bolt -right arrow-.

-- Adjust the dimension -b-.

• Dimension -b- = 370 mm.

-- Tighten the bolt -arrow- to 10 Nm.

-- Loosen the left and right lower : T10552/1  -3-.

-- Adjust the dimension -c-.

• Dimension -c- = 155 mm.

-- Turn the left and right threaded sleeve from the : T10552/1  -3- until the dimension -d- is reached.

• Dimension -d- = 185 mm.

-- Position the : T40386/1  and : T40386/2  on the : T10552/2  and tighten by hand with the bolt -arrow-.

-- Place the : T10552  -1- on the : VAS6931  -2-.

-- Tighten the bolt -right arrow- :

• M6 5 Nm
• M8 10 Nm

Strut: T40335  , Preparing

• Noise insulation removed. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Measure the diameter of the hole in the subframe.

a -  17.6 mm

b -  15.6 mm

-- If necessary, loosen the set screw -1-.

-- Insert the Pin : T40335/1  on the correct side in the : T40335  .

-- Tighten the set screw again.
