Needle Bearing In Drive Plate, Replacing

Only available with the manual transmission a needle bearing is installed in the drive plate.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Press Piece - 31.5mm: VW418A
- Press Piece - 28x100mm: VW421
- Bearing Installer - Multiple Use: 40-103
- Pneumatic hydraulic press, for example : VAS6654 , not illustrated
Procedure
- The transmission is removed. Refer to the appropriate information. .
- : 40-103
-- Remove the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Place the under the drive plate to remove and install.
-- Press out the needle bearing using the : VW421 and workshop press.
- The thinner diameter of the: VW421 points towards the drive plate.
-- Carefully press the needle bearing in all the way using the : VW418A and workshop press.
- Installation position: the closed side of the needle bearing faces the engine.
-- Install the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
