Oil Pump, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:

Replace the oil baffle after removal.
Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn.

-- Make sure both alignment bushings for centering the oil pump are installed.

-- Before installing check the screen -item 21- OVERVIEW - OIL PAN/OIL PUMP in the oil pump and the oil channel in the oil pan upper section for debris.

-- Guide the oil pump chain sprocket into the drive chain and install the oil pump.

CAUTION:

Risk of destroying the engine by incorrectly installing the chain tensioner.

- Make sure that the tension spring of the chain tensioner is in the installation position.

-- Use the Elbow Assembly Tool:T10118 to pull the tension spring wire clip for the chain tensioner in the direction of -arrow- and remove the Chain Tensioner Locking Tool:T40265 .

-- Check the support of the wire clip for the chain tensioner tension spring.

The wire clip -2- must be supported as shown on the locating tab -1- of the oil pan upper section -arrow-. (Shown when removing the lower timing chain cover.)

-- Insert the oil baffle -item 8- OVERVIEW - OIL PAN/OIL PUMP and secure it.

-- Install the oil pan lower section. Refer to OIL PAN LOWER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
