Camshaft, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the upper coolant pipe. Refer to UPPER COOLANT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the ignition coils. Refer to IGNITION COILS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicles with a Particulate Filter:

-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the Exhaust Pressure Sensor 1 -G450-.

-- Disconnect the connectors:

For the Turbocharger Recirculation Valve -N249-
For the Camshaft Position Sensor 3 -G300-
For Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276- /Fuel Metering Valve -N290-

-- Disconnect the connectors -arrows- from the cam adjustment actuator.

-- Free up the connector from the clip -4- and pivot it forward.

-- Release the retainers -arrow-, remove the wiring duct -4- upward from the bracket and move it towards the front.

CAUTION:

Risk of destroying the coolant pipes through deformation.

- Never change the coolant pipe bend shape.

-- Remove the bolts -1, 2 and 3-. Carefully swing the coolant line slightly toward the rear.

-- Disconnect the connector -1- from the EVAP Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1 -N80-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and move the oil separator to the side.

-- Remove the front noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
