Engine, Securing To Engine And Transmission Holder

Procedure

Transmission separated from engine. Refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING .

-- If equipped, release the retainer in direction of -arrow- and remove the engine cover mount -1-.

-- Engage the Engine Sling:2024A onto the engine and onto the Shop Crane:VAS 6100 .

To be aligned to the center of gravity of the assemblies, the mounting hook rail with holes must be inserted as shown.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of injury from the lifted engine/motor falling.

The possibility for parts of the body to be pinched or crushed increases.

- Secure the mounting hooks and pins on the lifting tackle with a securing pin.

-- Insert the securing pins -arrows- to secure the mounting hooks and alignment pins.

-- If necessary, remove the flywheel. Refer to FLYWHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the intermediate plate. Refer to Fig 5.

-- Remove the alignment sleeves from the cylinder block.

-- Secure the engine on the Engine and Transmission Holder:VAS 6095A -1- as shown.

Assembling

Assemble in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Insert the alignment sleeves into the cylinder block.

-- Install the intermediate plate. Refer to Fig 5.

-- Install the flywheel. Refer to FLYWHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
