Gear Oil, Checking Level

Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Shop Crane - Drip Tray:VAS6208
- Charging Device for AWD Clutch Coupling 2:VAS6291A
- Charging Device For AWD Clutch Coupling 2 - Adapter 3:VAS6291/3
- Adapter for Oil Filling:VAS6262/6 or Oil Filler - Adapter:VAS6262/7
Test Requirement
- The vehicle must be level.
- Transmission fluid specification for rear final drive. Refer to the appropriate Parts Information.
Check the Oil Level.
-- Place the :VAS6208 under the final drive.
-- Remove the oil filler plug -2- for the Gear Oil.
The oil level is correct when the rear final drive is filled up to the lower edge of the oil fill hole.
-- Insert the new oil filler plug -2- and tighten.
Filling the Oil
-- Add enough oil using :VAS6291A until it runs out between the charging device adapter and the transmission housing.
-- Remove the charging device and adapter if necessary a little oil left over will flow out.
The oil level is correct when the rear final drive is filled up to the lower edge of the oil fill hole.
-- Insert the new oil filler plug -2- and tighten.
