Overview - Driveshaft, Mounted On Transmission Side

- Do not perform any repair work on the driveshaft.
- The front driveshaft tube cannot be separated from the rear driveshaft tube.
- Heat Shield
- For the driveshaft intermediate bearing
- Combi Bolt
- 20 Nm +90°
- Replace after removing
- Quantity: 4
- For the driveshaft intermediate bearing on the body
- Flange Nut
- 8 Nm
- For the heat shield at the bevel box
- Not installed on all versions
- Circlip
- Always replace. Refer to Fig 2
- Insert in the rear groove for the output shaft/shaft bevel gear for the bevel box
- O-Ring
- Always replace.
- Insert in the front groove for the output shaft/shaft bevel gear for the bevel box
- Transmission with Bevel Box
- Lubricate the splines on the output shaft/shaft bevel gear with Grease for Clutch Disc Shaft Splines:G 000 100 .
- Heat Shield
- For the bevel box and the driveshaft
- Not installed on all versions
- Bolt
- 8 Nm
- For the heat shield at the transmission support
- Not installed on all versions
- Lock Washer
- Intermediate Bearing
- Align free of tension
- Driveshaft
- The steering/intermediate bearing cannot be disconnected
- Removing and installing. Refer to DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, DRIVESHAFT CONNECTED ON TRANSMISSION SIDE .
- Bolt
- 50 Nm + 90°
- Replace after removing
- For the flexible disc/driveshaft at the rear final drive
- Rear Final Drive
- Removing and installing. Refer to OVERVIEW - FINAL DRIVE .
Replace the Circlip on the Output Shaft/Shaft Bevel Gear
- The circlip must always be replaced after removing the driveshaft.
-- Remove the old circlip -B- from the output shaft/shaft bevel gear groove with the new circlip -A-.
