1. Wheel Bearing Unit
   • With sensor ring for ABS speed sensor
   • Check sensor ring. Refer to Sensors ; Sensor Ring for ABS Speed Sensor Checking
   • Measure the wheel hub lateral run-out. Refer to the appropriate Service Information. .
   • Cannot be serviced
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to WHEEL BEARING UNIT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • Handling. Refer to Fig 2
2. Bolt
   • Quantity: 3
   • Replace after removing
   • 70 Nm +90°
3. Drive Axle
   • Do not let the drive axle hang down or the inner joint could be damaged if it is bent too far.
   • Lightly coat the splines on the outer joint with assembly paste before installing the outer joint into the wheel hub. Refer to the appropriate Electronic Parts Information.
4. Wheel Bearing Housing
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to WHEEL BEARING HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
5. Bolt
   • Replace after removing
   • Clean the threads in the CV joint with a thread tap before installing.
   • Loosening and tightening. Refer to DRIVE AXLE THREADED CONNECTION, LOOSENING AND TIGHTENING .
   • :WHT.005.437  / black = 200 Nm +180° additional turn
   • :WHT.005.437.A  / silver = 200 Nm + 90° additional turn

• Position the wheel bearing -1- so that it faces upward.
• Always set the wheel bearing down on the wheel hub -2-.

• Never reach inside when lifting the wheel bearing.

• Hold the wheel bearing only on the outside.
