Battery, 48 V -A6-, VISUALLY INSPECTING AND CLASSIFYING

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Procedure 

CAUTION:

Health risk due to toxic dust and fluids.

- Never work on a lithium-ion battery with a short circuit.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of burns due to a hot lithium-ion battery.

It is possible to burn hands.

- Do not touch a hot battery.

- Wear safety gloves.

The Battery, 48 V -A6- must be checked for:

-- After the visual inspection, the Battery, 48 V -A6- must be classified.

-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

With the Battery, 48 V -A6- removed, use the Diagnostic Box: VAS 5581  with the Diagnostic Cable: VAS 5581/14  and the Adapter Cable: VAS 5581/1A-2  . The CAN bus terminating resistor on the Diagnostic Box: VAS 5581  is preset to 120 Ohm and must not be changed.

-- Select the Diagnostic  mode and start the diagnosis.

-- Select the Test plan  tab.

-- Select the Select individual test  button and select the following tree structure consecutively:

-- Start the selected program and follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display.
