Bumper Cover, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the lock carrier trim panel. Refer to LOCK CARRIER TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Unclip the cover -2- from the luggage compartment side trim panel.

-- Remove the plugs -1-.

-- Remove the nuts -arrow- using the Body Socket :T40078  .

-- Remove the tail lamp. Refer to LOWER TAIL LAMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the wheel arch trim in the bumper cover area. Refer to WHEEL COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, REAR .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Push the rear wheel housing liner -1- to the side.

-- Market-specific versions: remove the bolts -arrows-.

TIP:

On vehicles with trailer hitch the trailer hitch must be retracted.

-- Disengage the side piece -1- on the side panel outward -arrow A- and remove the bumper cover -3- slightly toward the rear -arrow B- with the help of a second technician.

-- Lay the bumper cover on a soft surface.
