Brake Pads, Removing And Installing, Six-Piston Ceramic Brake: Removing

-- Remove the affected front wheel, while observing the safety precautions for vehicles equipped with ceramic brakes. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .

-- Disengage balance springs -2-, by using the : T40207  to push downward in direction of -arrow- and disengage on the brake pad pin -3-.

-- Disengage and remove the balance springs from the brake pads -1-.

-- Disconnect the brake pad wear sensor connector -1-.

-- Open the protective cap -2-, free up the wire and unclip at the brake caliper and the brake pad spring -arrows-.

TIP:

-- Remove the bolt -3-.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of injury by the tensioned brake pad spring jumping out.

- Use a hand to press down on the brake pad spring when removing the brake pad pin.

-- Press down the brake pad spring -2- -arrows-, then remove the brake pad pin -1- from the brake caliper.

-- Remove the brake pad spring.

-- Remove the brake pads -1 and 2- from the brake caliper.

TIP: 

For brake pads that are being reused, pay attention to the brake pad wear sensor -3-.
