Brake Caliper, Replacing, Six-Piston Ceramic Brake: Installing

Installation in reverse order of removal and note the following:

-- Bring the brake caliper into its installed position and tighten the bolts -arrows-.

-- Install the brake pads. Refer to BRAKE PADS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, SIX-PISTON CERAMIC BRAKE .

-- Bring the bracket into the installation position and tighten the bolt -2-.

-- Fasten the brake hose -1- to the brake caliper.

-- Remove the : VAG1869/2  .

-- Only bleed the brakes on the wheel from which the brake caliper and the brake hose were loosened. Refer to HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, BLEEDING .

-- Install the front wheel, while observing the safety precautions for ceramic brakes. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .

CAUTION:

Faulty brakes increase the risk of an accident.

- Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.

-- With the vehicle stationary, firmly press the brake pedal several times so that the brake pads in the operating condition properly sit in their respective position.

-- Check brake fluid level, and fill if necessary.
