Brake Booster, Removing And Installing, Vacuum Brake Booster: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:
- Replace the seal between the brake booster and bulkhead.
- The new seal is not bonded.
-- Remove any bonded joint residue from the brake booster and the bulkhead.
-- Using a hot air gun, warm the adhesive residue at a low setting and remove it.
-- Clean the surfaces thoroughly.
- Replace the seal between the brake booster and bulkhead.
- The new seal is not bonded.
No function of the brake lamp due to missing actuator pin for the brake lamp switch.
- Before installation, check the brake master cylinder if the actuator pin for the brake lamp switch as well as the pistons are inserted in the brake master cylinder. Refer to the appropriate Service Information .
-- Attach the brake pedal to the brake booster. Refer to BRAKE PEDAL, ATTACHING TO BRAKE BOOSTER .
-- Install the selector lever cable and the cable bracket. Refer to OVERVIEW - SHIFT MECHANISM .
-- Install the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY TRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Bleed the brake system. Refer to HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, BLEEDING .
-- Bleed the clutch hydraulic. Refer to the appropriate Service Information .
Vehicles with 2.5L TFSI engine:
-- Install the jump start terminal. Refer to BATTERY JUMP START TERMINAL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the air filter housing. Refer to the appropriate Service Information .
-- Connect the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
