Front Water Drain Hoses, Removing And Installing, Q3: Removing

• Open the sunroof shade completely.

-- Switch off the ignition.

-- Remove the front interior lamp/reading lamp. Refer to FRONT INTERIOR LAMP/READING LAMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left and right sun visors. Refer to SUN VISOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the sun visor center support. Refer to SUN VISOR CENTER SUPPORT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Versions with Driver Assistance Systems Front Camera:

-- Unclip the cover -1- using the clip release lever -arrows A, B, C- by carefully inserting the clip release lever between the windshield and the cover.

-- Repeat the procedure on the opposite side.

-- Disengage the front of the cover -1- and remove it toward the rear.

Continuation: 

-- Remove the left and right A-pillar upper trim panel. Refer to A-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the plenum chamber cover. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left and right front roof grab handle. Refer to ROOF GRAB HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left and right B-pillar upper trim panel. Refer to B-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- To avoid dirtying the headliner, clean the Removal Wedge: T40233  .

-- Push the Removal Wedge: T40233  between the sunroof frame -1- and the headliner.

-- Using the Removal Wedge: T40233  , loosen the front of the headliner from the sunroof frame -arrows-.

-- Lower the headliner on the corresponding side.

-- For guiding the new water drain hose in later, insert an approximately 500 mm long wire through the grommet -1- into the water drain hose.

-- Remove the water drain hose coupling piece from the connections on the sunroof frame and free up the clips and guides.

Vehicles through 09/2020: 

-- Loosen the grommet -1- on the plenum chamber and remove it from the water drain hose.

-- Remove the water drain hose toward the inside while holding the wire at the same time.

Vehicles from 09/2020: 

-- Loosen the grommet -1- on the plenum chamber.

-- Remove water drain hose with the grommet -1- inward and at the same time hold the wire.
