Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Upholstery Clip Pliers: VAG1634

• The following components must be replaced after removal. Refer to OVERVIEW - COVER AND CUSHION .

Cover and Cushion, Separating, Bench Seat: 

-- Remove the bench seat. Refer to BENCH SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, A3 .

-- Cut through the upholstery clip -arrow- with pliers and guide the child seat anchor guide -1- out of the tab.

-- Repeat the process on the rest of the child seat anchor guides.

-- Disengage piping -3- of seat cover around the seat frame.

-- Disengage the piping -1- of seat cover from the opening for the seat belt latch.

-- Remove the cover -2- with the cushion from the seat frame.

-- Pull off the cover -3- from the cushion -2- as far as possible and cut upholstery clips -1- using pliers.

-- Cut the remaining upholstery clips and remove the cover from the cushion.

Cover and Cushion, Separating, Rear Seat Backrest:

-- Remove the cover and cushion. Refer to COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, A3 BACKREST CUSHION .

-- Pull off the cover -2- from the cushion -3- as far as possible and cut upholstery clips -1- using pliers.

-- Cut the remaining upholstery clips and remove the cover from the cushion.

Assembling 

Assembly is performed in reverse order.
