Rear Lid Lock, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the rear lid lower trim panel and rear lid latch cover. Refer to REAR LID LOWER TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Open the cover -1- for fastening the release cable -arrow-.

-- Turn the operating cable 90° in the -direction of arrow A- at the lever -6- and remove it from the cable bracket on the rear lid latch -5-.

-- Using a screwdriver -1-, secure the operating lever -8- on the opposite side -arrow B-.

-- Disengage the release cable nipple -7- from the release lever -arrow C- and free up the release cable.

Continuation: 

-- Disconnect the connector -3-.

-- Remove the nuts -2 and 4-.

-- Remove the rear lid latch.
