Backrest Cover And Cushion, Removing And Installing, Standard/Sport Seat: Removing

- Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Fasten the front seat on the :VAS6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .
-- Remove the backrest cover. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD/SPORT SEAT .
-- Remove the headrest. Refer to HEADREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the backrest heating wiring harness on the seat pan and free it up.
-- Remove the tunnel-side seat side trim. Refer to SEAT SIDE TRIM ON TUNNEL SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the seat side trim on the side sill side and remove the bracket. Refer to SEAT SIDE TRIM ON SIDE SILL SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- A5 Coupe/Cabriolet: remove the backrest release trim. Refer to BACKREST RELEASE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disengage the backrest hinge covers -1 and 2- on the backrest frame -arrows A and B-.
-- If installed, remove the screws -1 and 3- and remove the cross bar/child seat anchor -2- from the front seat.
-- Detach the side molding -1 and 3- from the backrest frame.
-- Disengage the upper center molding -2- on the backrest frame.
-- Remove the clips -A and B arrows- on the backrest frame using the :80-200 .
-- Disengage the lower center molding -1- on the backrest frame.
-- Loosen the cover and cushion slightly from the backrest frame.
-- Remove the front thorax airbag. Refer to FRONT THORAX AIRBAG WITH IGNITER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD/SPORT SEAT .
-- Loosen the cover and cushion from the backrest frame and remove forward carefully.
-- A5 Coupe/Cabriolet: disengage the cover hooks -arrows- on the backrest release.
-- Remove the cushion upward from the backrest frame.
