Rollover Protection Extended Position, Retracting

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Pliers: T40172C 

Procedure 

-- Remove the expanding clips with the : T40172C  , and remove the rear panel rear trim panel. Refer to REAR PANEL REAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Place the convertible top in the convertible top compartment and leave the convertible top compartment cover open.

-- Release the driver or passenger side rollover support -2- with a screwdriver on the respective lock -1- in direction of -arrow A-, and push back the rollover protection to its initial position in direction of -arrow B-.

-- While driving in tip the aluminum section in the direction of the arrow (see cover) to ensure that its locked securely.

• When the system is locked securely it can be pushed 2 to 3 mm farther downward.
• After releasing the spring force moves it back into the locked end position.
