Roof Reinforcement, Attaching To Body

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Assembly adhesive. Refer to the Parts Information.

Procedure 

• Headliner removed. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

A5 Coupe: 

-- Apply the adhesive beads -arrows- as shown on the roof reinforcements.

• Thickness of the beads on the circumference -A arrows- is approximately 7 mm.
• Thickness of the support beads -B arrows- is approximately 5 mm.
• Apply the adhesive beads according to the line markings on the roof reinforcement.

2. Roof Reinforcement for Equipment Versions without Sliding Sunroof

-- North American roof reinforcement versions with sliding sunroof: apply the adhesive bead -arrows- as shown on the roof reinforcement.

• Thickness of the beads around the circumference -arrow A- is approximately 7 mm.
• Thickness of the support beads -arrow B- is approximately 5 mm.
• Apply the adhesive beads according to the line markings on the roof reinforcement.

-- Mount the roof reinforcement -2- centered between the outer sides and at a distance -a- from the bow -1- on the roof.

• Dimension -a- approximately 15 mm.

-- Press the roof reinforcement on the roof surface.

-- Wipe off any adhesive residue.

Versions without Sliding Sunroof:

-- Mount the roof reinforcement -2- centered between the outer sides and at a distance -a- from the bow -2- on the roof.

• Dimension -a- approximately 15 mm.

-- Press the roof reinforcement on the roof surface.

-- Wipe off any adhesive residue.

Further installation is the reverse order of removal.
