Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor On Radiator Outlet -G83-, Removing And Installing
Procedure
-- Release the retainers in direction of -arrows B- and open the cover -1- in direction of -arrow A-.
- The engine is cold.
-- To reduce the residual pressure in the cooling system, briefly open the coolant expansion tank cap -1- by releasing the retainer in direction of -arrow-.
-- Reinstall the cap until it engages.
-- 2.9L Engine: remove the front right wheel spoiler. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
-- 3.0L Engine: remove the right air intake grille. Refer to Front Bumper .
-- Disconnect the connector -1-.
-- Place a cloth underneath to catch any escaping coolant.
-- Remove the bolt -2- and the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on Radiator Outlet -G83-. (On vehicles with 3.0L engine).
TIP:
If an O-ring remains in the cylinder block, remove the O-ring with a wire.
- Replace the O-rings after removing them.
-- Insert the new engine coolant temperature sensor immediately so that as little coolant is lost as possible.
-- 3.0L Engine: install the air intake grille. Refer to Front Bumper .
-- Check the coolant level. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .
Tightening Specifications
- Refer to OVERVIEW - ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR .
- Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
