Battery -A-, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, 0K4 AND VH0: Disconnecting

-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Lift the luggage compartment floor cover.
-- If equipped, remove the spare tire.
-- Disconnect the connector -3- on the Auxiliary Battery -A1- by opening the contacts in the Auxiliary Battery -A1- and it will not have power.
-- Remove the nut -1- and free up the ground cable -4- for the Battery -A- on the threaded pin.
CAUTION:
Risk of short circuit due to the ground wire.
- Insulate the ground wire
-- Immediately wrap the ground wire with insulating tape -2- and set it aside.
Check that it is de-energized on the jump-start connection point using the multimeter:
-- Open the cover -1- by releasing the catch.
-- Measure using the : VAG 1526E between the positive terminal -2- and the negative terminal -3-.
- Display on multimeter = 0 Volt.
