Needle Bearing In Drive Plate, Replacing

Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Press Piece - 31.5mm:VW418A
- Press Piece - 28x100mm:VW421
- Bearing Installer - Multiple Use:40-103
Only available with the manual transmission a needle bearing is installed in the drive plate.
Procedure
- The transmission is removed. Refer to the appropriate Service Information .
-- Remove the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Place the :40-103 under the drive plate to remove and install.
-- Press out the needle bearing using :VW421 and workshop press.
- The smaller diameter of :VW421 faces the drive plate.
-- Carefully press the needle bearing in all the way using :VW418A and workshop press.
- Installed position: the closed side of the needle bearing faces the engine.
-- Install the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
