Muffler, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the tunnel brace and diagonal braces (equipment version). Refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS .

-- Loosen the clamping sleeves -1 and 2- and slide them toward the rear.

-- Slightly lower the front muffler and remove the clamping sleeves.

-- Disconnect the left and right connector -2- for the exhaust door control unit -1-. (On vehicles with 3.0L engine).

WARNING:

Risk of accident due to the heavy weight of the muffler.

A second technician is required for the following work steps.

-- Disengage the mountings -arrows- from the exhaust system rear section.

-- Remove the bolt -2- and remove the muffler -1-.
