Exhaust System, Installing Without Tension

Procedure 

• Align the exhaust system when cold.

-- Loosen the clamping sleeves -1 and 2-.

-- Push the exhaust system far enough forward in direction of -arrow- until the pretension on the retaining loop at the exhaust pipe is -a- = 10 ± 2 mm.

-- Position the front clamping sleeve (refer to Figure) and tighten the threaded connections evenly.

Vehicle with 2.9L Engine:

-- Check the distance of the tail pipes to the bumper:

• Dimension -x- left = dimension -x- right.

Vehicle with 3.0L Engine:

-- Check the distance of the tail pipes to the bumper:

• Dimension -a- on the left = dimension -a- on the right.
