Fan Shroud, Removing And Installing, 3.0L Engine: Removing
-- Remove the front noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the charge air cooler. Refer to CHARGE AIR COOLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 3.0L ENGINE .
-- Release the left and right catches in direction of -arrows- and remove the retaining pin -1- for the radiator upward.
-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the High Pressure Sensor -G65-.
Risk of destroying the radiator for the coolant.
- If the catches are damaged, the radiator must be replaced.
Risk of damaging refrigerant lines and hoses.
- Do not bend, twist or stretch the refrigerant lines and hoses.
-- Release the left and right catches -arrows- disengage the condenser -1- from the radiator and tie up to the side.
-- Release the catches -2- and remove the lower air duct -1- for the radiator.
-- Place the container of the : VAS5014 or : VAS6208 underneath.
-- Lift the clamp -arrow- and remove the coolant hose from the radiator and drain the coolant.
-- Pry up the clamp -arrow- and support the left lower plug in the radiator.
There is a risk of hand injury if the radiator fan turns on by itself.
- Do not reach into the radiator fan when disconnecting the connector.
-- Disconnect the radiator fan connector -arrow-.
-- Remove the left and right bolt -2- for the radiator bracket -1-.
-- Remove the left and right bolt -2- for the radiator bracket -1- with the corresponding tool -3-.
-- Remove the left and right radiator bracket -1- in the direction of -arrow-.
TIP:
For reinstallation, mark the installation position of the radiator bracket to the rubber bushing.
Mark the installation position of the radiator bracket to the rubber bushing.
-- Press the fan shroud left and right locking tabs at the same time in direction of -arrow- and lift the fan shroud upward from the radiator.
-- Remove the fan shroud downward between the radiator and the lock carrier at the same time push the radiator pack in the lower area at the same time as far forward as possible.
