Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 2.9L ENGINE
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Socket T30: T10405
Procedure
Depending on the model, preliminary work may be required. Refer to ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR -G62-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- The engine is cold.
-- To reduce the residual pressure in the cooling system, briefly open the coolant expansion tank cap -1- by releasing the retainer -arrow-.
-- Reinstall the cap until it engages.
-- Remove the engine cover and heat shield. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the connector -2-.
-- Place a cloth underneath to catch any escaping coolant.
-- Remove the bolt -1-, and remove the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62-.
TIP:
If an O-ring remains in the cylinder block, remove the O-ring with a wire.
- Replace the O-rings after removing them.
-- Insert the new engine coolant temperature sensor immediately so that as little coolant is lost as possible.
-- Install the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Fill with coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .
