Timing Chain Guard Upper Section, Removing And Installing: Removing
- When installing, install all heat shield boots back in the same positions.
-- Remove the rear high pressure pipe. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Cylinder Bank 1 (Right):
-- If installed, remove the Coolant Recirculation Pump -V50-. Refer to ELECTRIC COOLANT PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 -N205- and free up the wire.
-- Remove the double bolt -2- and bolts -1- and remove the bracket for the After-Run Coolant Pump -V51-.
-- Remove the bolts in the following sequence: -8 to 1-.
Cylinder Bank 2 (Left):
-- Unclip the bracket -arrow- using the vacuum hose from the timing chain cover and push to the side.
-- Open the heat shield boot and disconnect the connector -arrow- on the Oil Pressure Switch -F22-. (shown on a 3.0L engine).
-- Disconnect the connector -1- on the Oil Temperature Sensor -G8-. (shown on a 3.0L engine).
-- Free up the wiring harness from the timing chain cover.
-- Remove the bolts in the following sequence: -8 to 1-.
Continuation for Both Sides:
-- Carefully loosen and remove the timing chain cover from the bond.
Risk of destroying the engine by small parts inadvertently entering with the upper timing chain cover removed.
- Cover the timing chain opening with a clean cloth.
