Overview - Charge Air Hose Connections

- The hose connections as well as air duct pipes and hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing.
- Secure all hose connections with hose clamps that match the ones used in series production. Refer to the Parts Information.
- In order to be able to securely mount the air duct hoses on their connections, spray the bolts on the previously used screw-type clamps with rust remover before installing.
Hose clamps on the hooks on the pressure side -arrows-.
- To remove the air duct hose, the screw-type clamp must be loosened enough.
- Loosened screw-type clamps can be reused.
- A screw-type clamp -1- with hooks -arrows- may not be removed from the air duct hose.
- If a screw-type clamp with hooks was removed from the air duct hose, the air duct hose must be replaced.
- A new air duct hose will be delivered with the screw-type clamp installed.
Tightening specifications for
- Hose clamp -a- = 12 mm wide: 5 Nm
- Hose clamp -b- = 9 mm wide: 3.4 Nm
Air duct hoses on air duct pipes/charge air cooler - installation position and tightening specification
- The markings on the air duct hose must align with the housing edge or the notch on the air duct pipe/charge air cooler -arrows-.
-- Tighten the hose clamps to 5 Nm.
