- Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Fasten the front seat on the :VAS6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .
-- Remove the tunnel-side seat side trim. Refer to SEAT SIDE TRIM ON TUNNEL SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the backrest cover. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD/SPORT SEAT .
-- Disengage the backrest hinge cover -2- (tunnel-side) from the backrest frame -arrow B-.
-- If installed, remove the screws -1 and 3- and remove the cross bar/child seat anchor -2- from the front seat.
-- To do this, remove the seat side trim on the side sill side. Refer to SEAT SIDE TRIM ON SIDE SILL SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disengage the side molding -3- (side sill side) on the backrest frame.
-- Remove the clip -B arrow- (tunnel-side) on the backrest frame with the :80-200 .
-- Disengage the lower center molding -1- on the backrest frame.
-- Release the catches with a small screwdriver in direction of -arrow- and at the same time remove the release cable -3- from the bracket.
-- Disengage the release cables -1 and 2-.
-- Release the catches with a small screwdriver -arrow- and at the same time remove the release cable -3- from the bracket.
-- Disengage the ends of release cable -1 and 2- and remove the release cable.
