Seat Pan Cover And Cushion, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by briefly touching the door striker pin, for example.
Observe all measures when installing the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Pay attention to the safety precautions for the passenger occupant detection system for market-specific versions that have that system. Refer to PASSENGER OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM DEACTIVATION ADDITIONAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS, MARKET-SPECIFIC .

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fasten the front seat on the : VAS6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Equipped on some models: remove the storage compartment. Refer to OWNER'S MANUAL, FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND STORAGE COMPARTMENT BRACKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the tunnel-side seat side trim. Refer to SEAT SIDE TRIM ON TUNNEL SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the seat side trim and bracket for the seat side trim on side sill. Refer to SEAT SIDE TRIM ON SIDE SILL SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- If equipped: free up the wiring harness for the seat and seat bolster heating from the seat pan. Refer to FRONT SEAT WIRE ROUTING .

-- Front passenger seat, market-specific for North America: remove the passenger occupant detection system. Refer to PASSENGER OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -1 and 3-.

-- Remove the cross bar/child seat anchor -2- toward the rear from the front seat.

Sport Seat:

-- Detach the molding -1- from the seat cover in the front and side areas using the : 3370 .

-- Detach the molding -2- of the cover in the rear area using the : 3370 .

-- Remove the seat cushion for the seat depth adjuster with the cover from the seat depth adjuster. Refer to SEAT DEPTH ADJUSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disengage the cover molding -1- in the front and side area using the : 3370 .

-- Disengage the molding -2- on the cover at the back using the : 3370 .

NOTE:

The seat depth adjuster cushion section (seat cushion) remains in the cover.

-- Detach the tabs -2- at the bottom of the seat pan.

-- Disengage the molding -1- at the bottom of the bracket on the seat pan.

-- Equipped on some models: disconnect the connector for seat bolster heating and free up the wires.

-- Remove the cover -2- in the area of the seat bolster cushion from the seat bolster cushion.

-- Loosen the seat bolster cushion -1- from the seat pan and remove carefully under the backrest forward in direction of -arrows- at the same time if necessary free up the seat bolster heating wiring harness.

-- Loosen the cushion -1- with the cover -2- from the seat pan and remove carefully under the backrest forward in direction of -arrows-.

-- Remove the cover and cushion from the seat pan, while doing so if necessary free up the seat heating wiring harness.

-- Front passenger seat market-specific for North America: guide out the control module with the wiring harness, and remove with the seat cover and seat cushion.
