Emergency Release From P

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Wedge Set: T10383 

• The selector lever will not shift out of "P" if the battery is disconnected or drained. The vehicle cannot be moved or towed.
• The Shift Lock Solenoid -N110- will cancel out the lock when the emergency release is operated.

Procedure 

-- Pull the parking brake button to activate the electro-mechanical parking brake.

-- Unclip the selector lever boot on both sides by hand or with the : T10383/1  in direction of -arrows- and fold it upward.

-- For example, release the Shift Lock Solenoid -N110- in the direction of the -arrow- using a screwdriver -1- and hold it in this position.

• The solenoid releases the selector lever.

-- When the solenoid is released, press the button in the selector lever handle and move the selector lever out of "P".

• If the selector lever is shifted back into "P", the Shift Lock Solenoid -N110- will mechanically lock the selector lever in the "P" position again. The solenoid must be released again.
